Cooking & Nutrition

Many people's unhealthy eating patterns began at an early age and were never broken. Healthy eating habits could provide lifelong advantages for children, including optimal growth and development and the avoidance of chronic diseases. Regular consumption of nutritious meals will make children more attentive and engaged, which in turn enhances their ability to focus and learn. Our personnel is qualified to assist in your children's growth and development as early childhood educators and to encourage healthy eating habits.

Developing Healthy Eating Habits

If we gave responsibility for dietary restrictions to children, the rules would probably seem like they came from a candy store. Children's diets, if left to their own devices, would likely consist mostly of sugar. We all agree that sugary desserts are delightful, but we also know that eating too many of them may lead to health problems, especially in children. Your center's mealtimes are a great chance for kids to try new things, build motor skills, learn about nutrition and where their food comes from, and interact with adults and peers. Young people are better prepared to make healthy food choices throughout their lives if they are exposed to the joy of healthy eating

Why Following Healthy Nutrition is Important to your Child

Children who eat well have more self-confidence and are better able to keep up with their daily activities. Adequate nutrition, including a sugar-restricted diet, is essential for the growth of strong bones, teeth, and muscles and the avoidance of future health issues. There is evidence that dietary inconsistencies relate to mental and academic difficulties. Ch children who eat well are healthier overall and better able to engage in academics, extracurricular activities, and interpersonal relationships. We make sure child meals and snacks adhere to dietary recommendations.

Meal Times At Tender Oak Child Care

All of our meals, from breakfast to dinner and even between-meal snacks, are meticulously prepared. Breakfast foods, for instance, consist of a variety of food groups, including wheat, fruits, and vegetables. Meat, meat substitutes, wheat, fruits, and vegetables all make appearances at both lunch and dinner. At least two of the following are included in our afternoon snacks: fluid milk; meat; meat substitutes; grains; fruits and vegetables. Reducing sugar intake and placing an emphasis on a diversified diet are two of the main tenets of our approach, and they are both outlined in detail when you contact us.

We Encourage Children to Learn to Recognize Their Own Hunger Signs

Young children are still developing their sense of taste and appetite, so it's important to support them while they do so. It's not good to encourage children to keep eating even if they're full, force them to eat items they don't enjoy or use food as a reward. Instead, our caregivers respect children's autonomy by letting them choose what and how much to eat while ensuring they still get the much-needed nutrition from each meal. This is a vital step for encouraging a healthy and balanced diet.
