Goals

The truth is that your child's preschool or daycare teachers and caregivers have a significant impact on their social, academic, physical, and emotional growth. To make a significant impact on your family's lives and the futures of your children is something we feel really committed to. Parentally and professionally, we put a great deal of faith in early childhood education programs to help our children flourish. In our role as an early childhood Family Day Home, Tender Oaks Child Care is guided by a few central goals, towards which we diligently work each and every day.

Establishing Credibility with Our Newest Class of Minis

We care for infants as young as 6 weeks through early adolescents of 12 years old at our daycare. Children will special needs may also be admitted on a case to case basis to ensure quality care for the whole group. During this time, children are developing cognitively, physically, and emotionally, and they are also forming their attitudes toward school and their educators. For each child to feel secure, loved, and prepared to thrive every day, they must first trust us. Therefore, building trusting relationships with your kids in their initial care setting is so important. We put in many hours cultivating the relationships, routines, and esteem that will be crucial to our future success.

Facilitating Socialization and Teamwork

Most children's initial exposure to a large group of children from a variety of backgrounds occurs at a daycare or preschool. To fit in, establish friends, and master working in teams, they'll require a particular set of abilities. Sharing, conflict resolution, and the ability to articulate one's thoughts and emotions are just a few of the social skills we instill in our young charges. In addition, we work hard to show the kids how to deal with bullying and work together to find solutions, so that they can avoid becoming bullies themselves. We believe in instilling in children the values of kindness, compassion, and mutual respect which is essential to helping them develop into adults who are capable of maintaining satisfying relationships with others.

Building Children's Confidence and Independence

Confidence in oneself and the ability to work independently are traits that grow over time, especially in a stimulating and nurturing daycare environment. Young children are more likely to accept and even seek out new learning difficulties if they are given the chance to develop and succeed and are praised for their achievements. When a child leaves our care, they should be prepared for the next step in their education. Young people need self-assurance and a willingness to try new things on their own if they are to succeed in life. Every day, we encourage kids to take on more responsibility and grow in their own abilities.

Helping Children Get a Head Start on their Education

This final objective covers the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Tender Oaks Child Care emphasizes and includes the development of all skills, such as the ability to sit still and focus on a task for a set period, the understanding that a day consists of work, play, lunch, and other necessary tasks, the ability to listen and follow instructions, and an overall sense of trust and respect. A young child who possesses all of these "competency" qualities will have the characteristics of one who is prepared for the next stage of intellectual and social growth.
