You may have heard the term "family day home" which is also known as "in-home babysitting," "in-home child care," or "home daycare," but you may not be familiar with what it entails or how to find it. We are glad to provide quality child care in a state licensed Family Day Home. Parents naturally want what's best for their children, so they research all of their options thoroughly to weigh the pros and cons of each. Tender Oaks Child Care is here to take the guesswork out of caring for your kids at home. Learn more about home and family care and the advantages it can offer before making a decision for your loved one.

A Practical Explanation of a Home-Based Child Care

In a Family Day Home, the provider will care for children in the provider's home, sometimes with the support of an assistant. Although the exact number of children allowed in a family child care program varies by state and by type of child care license, the average is somewhere between 4 and 12. Because of these settings, providers are able to spend quality time with each child, there is room for children of varying ages to interact, and the same caregiver can look after multiple children at once if desired. When a child attends a family daycare, he or she will be educated in a small group at the home of caregivers, with the same caregivers present each day. You will not experience high turnover rates as you sometimes do in a child care center. And as part of ensuring compliance with their state licensing standards,  these programs satisfy specific criteria and include comprehensive trainings and safety inspections.

Why Choose Tender Oaks Child Care?

I have been caring for children in my home for over 25 years, beginning when my own children were young and continuing now with a few of my grandchildren in the mix. I truly enjoy getting to know each of the children in my care and build relationships with them and their families. I am blessed to be able to be a part of any child's growth. Each time one of them takes their first step, or begins to understand words, or accomplishes a goal they have been working towards, I celebrate with them!   Whenever I can help a child reach new heights, or gain new understanding, I am honored to be a part of it. Every child is unique and so appreciated and I am grateful to be able to be a part of their daily lives.

I welcome and encourage family members to join in as equal partners. Good communication with the families of  my children is important to me because it is the best chance for a positive and successful experience all around.
